Soo-Min began to distinguish herself as she won prizes in many competion as
well as Dong-A music Competition as the youngest first prize winner. She
studied in Germany with scholarship of DAAD, the german Academic Exchange
Service after finishing bachelor’s degree in Seoul National University with Prof.
Ensik Choi. She studied with Rainer Moog at Koeln Musikhochschule and
finished the Diplomwith the highest honers. Meanwhile, she was selected in the
International Ensemble Academy and following year she joined Ensemble
Modern many projects as a guest violist including Salzburg Music Festival.
Before she came back to Korea she has been solo violist of Duiburger
Philharmoniker/Deusche Oper am Rhein. She has been premiered many
contemporarpieces in Korea. Her premier of “Animus” by Luca Francesco, she
acquiered o favorable reputation from the French Ministry of Culture’s officials
as will as IRCAM(France). She has actively played chamber music and has been
a member of quartet K(Knecht) and their CDs are released through the sony
Classical Labels. She has been teaching at Seoul National University and now,
she is a professor of Inje University.
